Joe Cole has said that the Liverpool management should be given credit for their work in bringing Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez to the club.

Joe Cole feels the pair can flourish alongside each other in attack and paid tribute to the staff within the Liverpool camp who worked assiduously to land the duo.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "You've got to credit the people at the club in recruitment. It's so important at Liverpool - you've got to be bringing in the right players.

"Throughout history, the most successful teams have been the ones who have signed the right players.

"So for this club it is important we do that, and with the two signings we made in January we have really strengthened. Those two added to the quality we've got, together we can take the club forward.
