COLE BACKS MOURINHO RETURN

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has said that José Mourinho would be the perfect man to manage at Chelsea this time around as well. José Mourinho left Chelsea after falling out with the owner back in 2007, but he is still regarded in high esteem by the fans and the players at the club.

Since his departure, he has made peace with the owner Roman Abramovich, who is currently searching for his eighth manager in as many seasons. None have been able to replicate the same success as José Mourinho, who won six trophies during his three years in charge of the club including two Premier league titles.

Joe Cole was one of the influential players under José Mourinho, although he has since left Chelsea. His Liverpool career appeared to go nowhere before joining French club Lille on loan this season. He has been so impressive in France that French club PSG are looking to make an offer for his services in the summer. Real Madrid manager José Mourinho and Barcelona manager Guardiola are the two names being linked heavily with Chelsea this summer. Roberto di Matteo has been in charge of the team on an interim basis. Now, Cole has said that Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge would be the perfect scenario for all parties involved.

“If Jose showed the slightest interest in going back to Chelsea they should run out to Spain, pick him up and carry him all the way back to Stamford Bridge. I think there’s a lot going on there but he would make it work. It’s my club, and sometimes I see things happening and it frustrates me even more. Looking in from the outside, they have fantastic players, fantastic role models, and they don’t use them enough,” Cole said in an interview given to the People.
