Joe Cole might make a substitute appearance in West Ham United’s next match against Norwich City which is going to be played on Tuesday. The veteran winger had been out due to groin injury.
Cole’s comeback would have surely made the Hammers management happy. He is one of the tried and tested guys in the squad and is very reliable. He provides stability to the West Ham line up.
Apart from him, there is one more guy whom Sam Allardyce has included into his squad for that Norwich game. It’s Mohamed Diame who had been struggling with his knee injury.
However, Andy Carroll would again not feature for the Hammers because of his suspension. He had been sent off during the match against Swansea City at the start of this month. Although, an appeal had been lodged against that to save him from suspension, but, that appeal was rejected.
Carroll would miss the next match against Southampton as well. He would be back in action next month when West Ham takes on Everton at Goodison Park.
As far as the recent performances of West Ham is concerned, they have won 2 out of their last 3 matches without conceding a single goal and that shows how well they have defended off late. They would like to continue their solid defensive show against Norwich too and secure another win to go even closer to the top half of the league table.
The total no. of points that West Ham has got at the moment is 25 with a goal differential of -5 which is not too bad. With 12 games still remaining, they can hope to finish in top 10 in the table, but, they would have to be consistent to be able to do that.
