Napoli director of football Cristiano Giuntoli has revealed to reporters that Manchester City target Fabian Ruiz is not for sale. Ruiz has consistently been a subject of transfer market speculators with Premier League side Manchester City named an interested side.
His creative nous and dribbling skills have set him apart as a crucial first-team player for the Azzurri. Napoli doesn’t want to lose the player and have placed a huge asking fee.
Giuntoli, when quizzed about the midfielder’s future, told Sky Sports Italia that the player would remain at the club. He stated that the player will remain at Napoli, as he is happy with the club and gets along very well with head coach Gennaro Gattuso.
He also revealed that Ruiz has three years on his contract and Napoli are keen on tying him to a long-term deal. He revealed that Fabian has three more years left on his contract and the club will try to talk about a possible renewal next year.
Ruiz is a quality talent and it would be difficult for Napoli to refuse a decent bid for the Spanish international.
Manchester City are leading the race and they are expected to make another approach for the player at the end of the season.
Former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole stated that Man City will be adding a top quality player to their squad should they make the move for Ruiz. However, he admits that doing business with Aurelio De Laurentiis will not be easy.
